Computer Science Pre-Collge Tip: Here's a great piece of pre-college advice: If you are looking to apply to a great computer science university, you should find out right away if they offer a summer program for high-school age students. Many of the top Computer Science colleges will look positively on any summer work and computer science experience, especially at a high-quality computer science summer program.
GET A COLLEGE LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: If you have, or soon will be attending a great summer computer science camp or program, be sure to ask for a college letter of recommendation from your instructor(s) or program directors.
GET COLLEGE SUGGESTIONS FROM YOUR SUMMER PROGRAM STAFF: Ask your instructors or program specialists where they went to college, and for recommendations of what they think are the best computer science colleges and universities.

START WITH THE COMPUTER SCIENCE COLLEGE WEBSITE: Every computer science college has its own website. You should be able to find a lot of useful college program information there, including specific computer science department information. As you read the college and college department webpages you will think of some questions about EACH specific college or university -- write them down, or send yourself a text/email so you won't lose them.
Nowadays, most colleges could also have an official Facebook page, or several 'unofficial' ones put up by current students and alumni. This would be a good place to get a sense of the 'personality' of the college.
