CAMP FACILITIES: The academic environment at Wheelock provides an appropriate facility for scientific experiments. Perhaps just as importantly, it also gives students an introduction to college life. One afternoon of camp will include a tour of Wheelock's classrooms, resource center, dorm rooms, library, theater, campus store, dining hall, and other campus buildings. Students will also have an opportunity to speak with undergraduates and faculty from Wheelock and faculty from other institutions throughout the Colleges of the Fenway, as well as members of the Academic Advising and Admissions offices.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: STEM in the City is run by an outstanding team of education professionals from Wheelock College, led by Dr. Ellen Faszewski, Wheelock College professor of biology and co-chair of the Math and Science Department. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: C.I.T. (Counselor In Training Program): The C.I.T. program gives our most mature campers, who are entering the 8th and 9th grades, a feel for what it take to be a counselor, while still having the opportunity to participate in all of the great activities at Maplewood.

In their role as a Maplewood C.I.T. they will have the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence that will help them to become effective leaders and positive role models.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Accredited Day Camp in South Easton, MA seeks teachers or individuals with education certification to work with children ages 3-14. You will be responsible for leading groups of children through their daily activities. Applicant will also be responsible for supervising other staff members. Individuals must have prior experience working with children.

CAMP FACILITIES: Lawrence Academy is a private boarding high school that offers summer programs. The campus has a swimming pool, 12 tennis courts, 3 indoor basketball courts, 8 athletic fields, a theater, dining hall, and numerous indoor air conditioned spaces. Summer programs are open to ages 3.5-17.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The 100-acre Lawrence Academy campus provides the setting for over 30 day camp offerings for children entering grades K–12 and an overnight English, Mandarin, Spanish, and French immersion program for American and international students. Summer Programs at Lawrence Academy are divided into three types: Day Camp, Specialty Camps, and Sports Camps. We offer nine one-week camp sessions beginning June 22, and ending August 21, 2015 for children entering Kindergarten through grade 12. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Come and enjoy the vast scientific experiences here on campus while also enjoying the fun and active environment of camp. During this week, the children will have an opportunity to dabble in many different scientific experiences. These experiences will range from classification of the plants on campus to the physics of our playground equipment. The children will spend each morning enjoying a team building activity, a short lesson on the topic of the day, free play, and even some sports. In the afternoon, the children will spend time participating in a hands on activity that will correlate with the morning’s lesson.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Youth should plan to be online 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. weekdays, and to work ten additional hours per week on their projects. Most of the scheduled time is for projects but some of it will be for meetings.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have outdoor picnic groves, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, a baseball diamond and soccer field. Through the woods there is a high and low ropes course and an archery range. Our pool allows us to swim rain or shine, and we have a large gym, several racquetball courts, and an indoor climbing wall.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Youth who are eager to learn, develop and enhance their leadership skills in the camp setting, apply to be C.I.T.s. These future counselors train in daily sessions: covering many areas such as effective listening, peer relationships, role modeling and programming.

C.I.T.s work with different age groups learning developmental stages and finding their preferred age group. As a group project, the C.I.T.s will plan and implement a camp-wide carnival.

The C.I.T. program includes a 5-day, 4-night recreational trip to Club Getaway in Kent, CT, from July 15 - July 19. Teens will bond as a group and enjoy boating, rock climbing, group challenge activities, trapeze, giant swing and evening socials. Each applicant is interviewed after registering.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Active Learning Services, Ltd operates enrichment programs designed to stimulate creative thinking, improve thinking, logic and memory skills and give children "thinking alternatives" to sports camps and other summer programs. CAMP FACILITIES: We are a 32 room facility with classrooms, comfortable individual and group therapy spaces, a breakfast room, a living room for morning meeting, as well as a Nurse's office.

There is also an outdoor play space, garden, and an outdoor pool, basketball court, and a gym/fitness center. We also have use of 500 acres of conservation land for learning and fitness.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Sunshine, dba Reed Academy was established in 1975, to provide a camp-like atmosphere where boys, ages 6-18 have a program where they can flourish with summer activities, and still maintain the skills that they have been learning throughout the school year.

Camp Sunshine, dba Reed Academy has grown to be a full year program. Reed Academy, the 12 month program is dedicated to helping boys with social and emotional needs. The highly structured program is to promote academic growth as well as providing an extended day for students to engage in fun and supervised activities.

Our camp programming works with each child's IEP, and provides additional focus on strengthening of adaptive daily living skills, social skills, and self-esteem building. Our classrooms are small, with ratios 4/5 students to each certified special education teacher, allowing the behavioral and educational needs of each student to be met with care and compassion.

Camp Sunshine, dba Reed Academy also has a full time LICSW and clinical staff on board to assist in providing support within the therapeutic milieu. In addition, the Executive Director, Academic Director, and Program Coordinator work closely with the students and staff members.

CAMP FACILITIES: One in-person camp will be held at the Georgetown Public Library in July 2025, located in Sussex County, DE.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Beginner coding skills are taught helping children learn sequencing and terms that grown up coders use everyday to create video games and more. Math and Science activities engage your child in learning and our ARTS program helps students understand how computer artists work in the field.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: This program can also be delivered through our TUTORING service by appointment during the summer.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Online camps such as summer, holiday and school break camps run for 2.5 hours and cost $55 for the session.
1-hour classes run all year long and currently cost $20 per class.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers enjoy the JCC's air-conditioned, professional theater, art and dance studios, science classrooms, an indoor pool for lessons, and a zero-entry outdoor pool for free swim. Additionally, campers enjoy a dedicated gaga pit, outdoor ping pong and foosball tables, tennis courts, fields, woods, trails, and access to the Charles River. Campers may bring a vegetarian or fish lunch, or pre-order lunch from our on-site kosher caterer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Kaleidoscope is dedicated to making camp a fun, nurturing, educational experience for each camper. Staff include well-trained bunk counselors ages 18 and up who work with groups of campers daily, and professional teachers who lead classes. Programming is organized into two four-week sessions, with flexible registration options. Registration minimum is two weeks.

All campers swim daily, with lessons offered twice weekly with our professional aquatics staff, utilizing the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy methods. Each session culminates in "Arts Night," including art and science exhibits, musical performances from lower and middle camp groups, and a fully realized musical from upper campers.

Lower campers entering grades K & 1 enjoy a balanced day of arts, science, and sports activities with caring, inclusive counselors and specialists. Middle campers entering grades 2 & 3 follow a schedule of diverse activities with their groups and enjoy "choice times" when they individually choose activities. Upper Campers in grades 4-8 design their own programs, choosing activities weekly, including theater, art, music, dance, boating and more. Upper Campers who elect to be in the musical attend for a full, 4-week session. All campers attending weeks 4 and/or 8 participate in "Arts Night", showcasing their art and science projects, and performing for parents and friends.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CITs in grades 9-11 are an integral part of camp, providing leadership and receiving training while also pursuing their own interests. They create their own schedule under the guidance of dedicated CIT staff. They spend approximately half the day assisting camper groups or activities, and half the day pursuing their own interests. CITs pay a reduced rate.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Financial aid is based on need and may cover up to 50% of tuition. Financial aid applications are due by April 1. Aid is awarded by April 15. Love kids? Want to work in a creative, supportive environment? Camp Kaleidoscope is looking for staff for the summer. Staff must be available for full camp season including orientation dates unless otherwise agreed upon. Camp dates: June 29-August 21, 2020, 8:30-4:10pm, Monday through Friday. Orientation dates: June 23, 25, 26 and 28. Seeking specialists in Drama Teacher, Ceramics, General Art, Science, Technical Theater, Sports & Outdoors Activities.
Specialists teach classes daily culminating in art and science exhibits and performances at the end of each four-week session. Specialists are college graduates or rising seniors with teaching and/or other relevant experience. Competitive salary. Parents on staff full-time send their children to camp for free!

Counselors
Seeking mature, reliable, patient people who understand what it takes to make a camper's day a wonderful experience. JCC Kaleidoscope Creative Arts & Science Camp is a pluralistic camp welcoming the entire community. While camp is not easily accessible by public transportation, bus counselor positions are available from Framingham and Brookline. Counselors must be 18 years of age or older or high school graduates with demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with children. All counselors must be available for the full eight-week season.

Lower and Middle Camp Counselors work in pairs or groups of three and are responsible for a group of 10-15 campers entering grades K-3. They support and nurture campers throughout the day as campers attend activities in the arts, science, sports and swimming. Middle camp counselors may also assist in other areas throughout camp.

Upper Camp Counselors work with campers entering grades 4-8. They teach or assist in classes, activities and theatrical productions. Positions include: tennis and other sports teachers, costumer, assistant tech director for shows, guitar and piano teachers, boating specialists (lifeguard certification required), and crafts teachers. Upper Camp teaching counselors should have completed at least one year of college.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our programs are run on two college campuses with prime landscaped and natural outdoor spaces. Inside spaces feature the latest in technological teaching aids.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:

CAMP FACILITIES: Residential students will be staying at the campus dorms, eating at the campus cafeteria. All activities and classes will be held on-campus.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The faculty consists of renowned lecturers, veterans in International Mathematical Olympiads (IMO) and Olympiad coaches, who have successful careers in math, science, and technology, with many years of classroom teaching experiences. Among them are: Dr. Kevin Wang, founder of Areteem and Math Zoom, former IMO China Team member, former math faculty at UC Irvine and UCLA; Dr. Harold B. Reiter, math professor at UNCC, who is very well known and well respected in math education and math competitions. The camp curriculum will cover some or all of the following topics: For Math: Modular arithmetic, Numbers and their digits & divisors, Basic and advanced counting strategies, Combinatorics, Polynomials and their coefficients & zeros, Algebraic inequalities and other techniques, Special angles and regular polygons, Centers of triangles, Collinearity and concurrency, Trigonometry, Vector and Coordinates.

Various problem solving techniques will be introduced, as well as Math contest strategies. For Science: Scientific research methodologies, principles in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics, etc., and real world applications such as roller coaster theory (you can learn to design your own roller coaster and build it at the camp!). For English as Second Language (ESL) students, there are also topics related to American culture and literature.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Drama Camp is run and instructed by Amy Kimball, who has worked in the summer camp setting for 32 summers. She directed Summer Camp for 20 summers. Amy is an experienced Clown, Mime, Performer, Director, Certified Teacher and has had every role at camp from counselor to unit head to specialist to Director. Amy has her BA in Education and has directed over 15 theatrical productions over the years. She will be working with help from a talented staff of performers who have expertise in singing and acting. Amy's staff will go through a camp staff orientation to understand their roles and responsibilities as counselors.

Our philosophy is for campers to create, learn, enjoy and work together all in a positive setting. Drama camp is about process but at the end of the week, the campers will perform for their friends and families.
